Every Sunday there is some sort of hike planned. Sunday, November 7, there was a hike that ended at a trout restaurant that I went on. Again, I failed to get the name, but it’s on my list of things to do along with the name of the other trail we went on. I can tell you it’s a farther drive to a different mountain than the other one was.
The hike itself wasn’t as much fun. It was partially on a road that pretty much wove its way up. The other part was on grassy terrain which was very different than the rocky path of the last trail. It was shorter, but in my mind seemed to last longer and I didn’t talk to as many people as the other one. I just wasn’t into it as much I think. The pace was a lot faster because we were trying to get to the restaurant to meet all of the people from the marina that were arriving by bus for lunch, but I managed to get some photos.
I love Janet’s bright yellow hat. That isn’t the point of this photo though. You can see the grassy terrain which created a soft, sponge like walk which was nice.
We saw wildlife on this hike… well sort of wild. These are cows hanging out on the mountain.
An out of focus photo of me with rocks, trees, and rubbish behind me.
This is one of the mountain roads we were on. We had just climbed up, so this was the climb down the other side.
A lot of the views were really pretty and very green. It was slightly overcast and hazy though so it’s harder to see the outline of distant mountains.
There was a random pool. Some said it was a water source for the restaurants down below… the towels hanging on the rail beside it suggest otherwise.
This was a good water break spot. You can see the two dogs that went with us on the hike! The little white one is a lot younger and had a ton of energy. He would run up ahead of everyone and then turn around to find his owner, Yeep from Germany, and then he would run back farther to find his friend who was a lot older, but was keeping up better than I thought he would.
This is the real road we crossed and walked along for a little while. At this point I was ready to be there.
And just as I was about to think “Are we there yet?!” we passed this rock. As you can see it had the paint saying we were on the trail going the right way… it also had a goat skull on it and bones scattered around it…
More wildlife! Well it’s again not entirely wild. This goat greeted us on the road leading up to the restaurant. It had a bell and that made me smile.
There were dogs tied to houses like this one barking furiously at us as we passed. It showed a very different view of “pets” in the mountains tied to shack like structures rather than those wandering around the cities freely.
Then we arrived at the restaurant! I, of course, don’t have the name of that either. It’s known for trout and cut a group deal for the Kemer Marina group. And I might say was a lot of fun. I don’t really eat fish or seafood, if you haven’t figured that out by this blog already, and so I was apprehensive at first, but they give you so much other food that there is a chance to fill up on bread, salad, other vegetables, and then the fish comes out and it’s like an afterthought. It tasted, like fish. It could’ve used some more seasoning or a sauce or something, but was good for what it was. Nothing beat the refreshing awesomeness of the beer though.
We made it! The restaurant is located over the fish farm where lunch is prepared. There is a chicken option, but it’s the whole “When in Rome” thing.
One of the best beers ever. Efes is Turkish beer and it’s pretty good, this was though was particularly yummy.
Your fish madam. It was looking at me…
So I made a fish face myself and posed with it.
The Kemer Marina group. About half hiked to lunch and the other half rode in another bus. It was a really nice outing.
These flowers were planted outside. I thought they were particularly beautiful.
And this is the bathroom… not so nice. Yes it’s essentially a hole in the floor. I’m still not sure how to use it, I decided to hold off until I got to the boat and just washed my hands.
